Terms & Conditions

1. The competition is open to all age groups. All recipes must be original and developed specifically for this competition. By ticking the box relating to authenticity, you are assuming full ownership of the recipe and WYFRS will not be held responsible for any copyright issues. There is a competition for employees of WYFRS & British Gas running alongside the main competition which will be judged separately.
2. Entries will be accepted by post to Safety Central, Po Box 195, Bradford BD19 9AL, online at www.wysafety.co.uk/cooking or by e-mail to safeandhealthy@westyorksfire.gov.uk putting the category entered in the subject line. WYFRS will not be responsible for any lost, delayed, wrongly delivered or damaged entries or entries not received for any reason. Proof of emailing is not proof of receipt.
3. The closing date for entries is 31st March 2010.
4. The competition winner and runners up will be determined through a combination of panellist judging and 'taster votes'. There will be two rounds of judging. Those shortlisted in the first round will be notified by 20th April 2010. In the second round the top three recipes for each category will be announced by 26th May 2010. The winners will be notified by post or email.
5. The winning prize will be awarded to the contestant who submits the best recipes as determined by the judges in accordance with the rules. The judges' decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. The prizes are yet to be determined. The promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances make that necessary. The prize must be accepted as offered. No cash alternatives will be offered.
7. In submitting your recipe to this competition you consent to WYFRS posting your recipe on its website, publishing it in the limited edition recipe cards or any of their publications without payment of any royalty or other fee. All winners may be required to be involved in any publicity events arranged by WYFRS. Names and photographs of winners and runners up may be included in press and PR events surrounding the competition.
